Feltex - Christchurch
Frews Demolition, Christchurch were the principal demolition contractors to demolish the old Feltex Carpets factory. While their company was able to handle the bulk of Asbestos super 6 roofing on site, they subcontracted our company – Coast Central Contracting to remove the Asbestos from within the boiler.
The land had been earmarked as a Retirement Village, with the old Boilerhouse remaining as a landmark feature and being converted for use within the village structures, but the earthquakes put paid to that idea. The land is now partially occupied by a supermarket.
